I ordered 6 custom 2' x 3' flags for an upcoming boat race I was participating in on the Thames River in England. I created a design and submitted it. I received and initial proof from the intake team with 24 hours. I then received a formal proof 1-2 days later. The flags arrived about 7 days after that and they were great! Very well made - ready to go. Thanks guys, I wish I had more flags to make.

I couldn't be happier with my custom flag! The quality exceeded my expectations, and the colours and detail are absolutely beautiful. It matched the custom decal on my pontoon boat perfectly and turned out exactly as I had envisioned.

I purchased a custom-made outdoor flag from The Flag Company in August 2024, which was not installed or used until November 2024. The flag was not kept outside 24/7, yet it deteriorated far sooner than expected for a $275 custom outdoor product.
When I respectfully raised my concern about the unexpectedly short lifespan (approximately one year)—especially in light of the company’s online advertising and customer reviews—I was surprised by the response I received from Sam Mescher, who stated that one year is considered a long lifespan for their custom flags.
This response was disappointing for several reasons:
1. The flag was used intermittently, not continuously exposed to outdoor conditions.
2. A one-year lifespan for a premium, custom outdoor flag is inconsistent with reasonable consumer expectations.
3. Rather than standing behind their product or customer experience, the company appeared more interested in encouraging another full-price purchase.
4. No resolution, accommodation, or alternative was offered—nor was there empathy or accountability for the situation.
To be clear, I was not seeking a free replacement. I was seeking acknowledgment, transparency, and a good-faith effort to resolve an unfortunate and unexpected product failure.
When I asked how we might create a resolution together, my concern was dismissed without consideration or care.
Based on this experience, I do not recommend The Flag Company or their custom outdoor flags. Product quality is important—but how a company responds when issues arise is just as telling, and in this case, that response fell short.
