Georgia State Flag

Georgia State Flag

The state of Georgia Flag is digitally printed on 200 denier SolarMax® nylon. The fabric is made for outdoor use with four rows of stitching on the fly end. The material of the flag starts as white, the Red Stripes and seal in the blue canton are printed using DuPont ink. The flag is treated to resist sun and chemical deterioration. The state of Georgia flag is printed single side reverse, which means it reads correctly on the front and reads in reverse on the back, our minds can easily read in reverse, so I’m sure you have never noticed the state seal was backwards, but this is how the American flag is made. Our flags are have canvas header material and brass grommets on 12″x18″ through 6’x10′. 8’x12′ and larger are finished with D Rings and either canvas webbing or rope and thimble. 4’x6′ and smaller are available with pole hem and/or fringe.

History of Georgia State Flag:

  • Adopted on May 8, 2003
  • A lot of designs around the same concept
    • A majority of the designs have three stripes red, white, red. With a blue field going all the way to the bottom of the flag
    • The most recent flag stops the blue field at the bottom of the second stripe
  • From 1879-1956 the flags had the three stripes with the blue field, the blue field was either left blank or had different seals in the blue field
  • 1956-2001 the three stripes were replaced with the confederate flag next to the blue field
  • In 2001 they hurried to design a new flag, this flag included small versions of some of the old Georgia flags including the controversial flag with the confederate flag included
  • They started drafting a new flag in 2003, when they came up with their current flag design being the 3 stripes with a blue field, inside the blue field is the state seal with 13 stars around it
