What Are Digitally Printed Flags?

The most common process used today to produce Custom Flags is Digital Printing.  This high-tech printing technology allows flags to be produced in 4-color process that allows us to provide custom printed flags with complex designs, unlimited colors that are very affordable.

Custom Flag Options

Single Side Reverse VS. Double Sided VS. Applique

A. Single Side Reverse (Digitally Printed Flag)

  • The image is digitally printed on the front of the flag and the ink bleeds through to the back creating a reverse image (mirror image).

  • It is best used for an outdoor flagpole.

  • Complexity of design and number of colors (Pantone) do not affect price.

  • Quantity pricing available.

  • Option with the BEST VALUE.

  • Production time, 2 weeks, RUSH is available.

B. Double Sided (Digitally Printed Flag)

  • The image is digitally printed on two flags that are then sewn together with a liner in between.

  • The design and the text read correctly on the front and back sides of the flag.

  • Due to the flag construction with three pieces of fabric, it is heavier material and does not withstand outdoor elements.

  • Best used for indoor use, parade, or presentation.

  • Almost double the price of Single Side Reverse due to two prints and construction.

  • Amount of colors (Pantone) and complexity in design do not affect price (quantity pricing available).

  • Turn-around time, approximately 2 weeks, RUSH job is available.

C. Applique (Hand-Sewn Flag)

  • The image is beautifully hand stitched and can be single side, single side reverse and double sided.

  • It is best used for indoor use due to the intricate details.

  • Pricing depends on the complexity of design.

  • Simple designs are most effective and are a better value.

  • Approximately 4 weeks, no rush available.

Is A Digital Printed Flag Right For Me?

Digital Printing is the most popular method and price conscious choice.  The single-side reverse option, the design is reversed on the back-side of the flag.  If your design has lettering, most people do make the adjustment naturally when looking at the back-side of the flag and are able to read it.

Digital Printing is a great method to choose for corporate logo flags, police and fire training class flags, school/organizational banners, personal boat pennants, and other special occasions for a custom printed flag .

The Digital Printing Process

1. ART WORK APPROVAL

Our art department digitizes your design to a file that is made up of lines and curves. This is called vectored art. If a file is not vectored art, it will print your custom flag in a pixelated format. Vectored art allows for your art to be high-resolution for whatever size flag is printed.

2. SENT TO PRODUCTION

Your vectored art is printed on high-quality nylon material and then cut, and edges are sewn to size.

3. FINISHED

Our sewing department then finishes your flag with a header and grommet, or a pole sleeve. Other custom finished feature are available.

Art Requirements for Digital Printed Jobs

All files must be vector! This means that the files must be comprised of outlines and not pixels. All lettering within the files must be converted to outlines also so as to avoid unwanted font substitution. Acceptable file types include: .ai, .plt, .pdf, and most .eps files.
