What is FMAA?
FMAA was developed in 2003 as a source for American flag manufacturers that make the United States flag. The members of FMAA ensure that the US flag is made with materials that are 100% made in America, and the factories are located in the USA. The mission is to educate the public about issues pertaining to counterfeit construction and sale of “American Made American flags”.

Counterfeit Flags
FMAA is dedicated to help lobby for stricter labeling laws. The reason is so many unsuspecting Americans fall victim to the tactics to foreign manufacturers selling and distributing counterfeit “American” flags.
Veteran Owned Flag Companies
There are many Veteran Owned flag companies, some who sell American Made American flags, but many importers market themselves as Veteran Owned. It is easy to trust our Veterans, however, if the price seems too good to be true, it is most likely an imported American flag.
In 2017, 10 million American flags were imported, all but 50,000 came from China.
All-American Flag Act
Over the past few years, bills were introduced to require the federal government to only buy flags 100% sourced and made in the United States. Currently the government is required to buy flags that contain only 50 percent of American-made materials rather than 100%. The All-American Flag Act is a bill that requires the federal government to buy flags 100% sourced and made in the USA, which is an FMAA Flag.
