Traditions: A long-established custom or belief that has been passed on from one generation to another.
I love traditions. Traditions ground me and remind me who I am and where I came from.
Holidays, including Independence Day, are foundations of traditions.
Years ago, our family began the tradition of a THIRD of JULY party. Yes, we celebrate Independence Day on the third. It began due to work schedules and, to be perfectly honest, my fear of fireworks. The idea was to kick-off the holiday, enjoy each-others company, while giving our friends and family the opportunity to enjoy fireworks the next evening. I truly enjoy a peaceful July 4th evening.
Due the fact that I own a flag company, the invite is always late and impromptu, and allows me to breathe a sigh of relief after a busy month or two leading up to the holiday.
May your holiday tradition run as deep as red, white, and blue.
