Today is Armed Forces Day. What does that mean? There is much confusion about the three major holiday’s honoring our great military.
Armed Forces Day (Third Saturday in May): This is the day we celebrate the men and women currently serving in the military. Flags fly at full-staff this day.
Memorial Day (Last Monday of May): This day we honor those who had died serving in the military. Flags fly at half-staff this day until noon, then the flag should proudly fly at full-staff.
Veteran’s Day (November 11): This day we thank and honor those who have previously served in the military. Flags fly at full-staff this day.
There are many ways to celebrate Armed Forces Day. Fly your American flag at your house. Attend a local parade. Send a care package to overseas military personnel.
