National Freedom Day, what is it?

Today is National Freedom Day. Today is the day the United States honors Abraham Lincoln’s signing of the 13th amendment of the constitution to outlaw slavery. This took place on February 1, 1865. 148 years ago. The amendment was ratified on December 18, 1865.

Today is a day to reflect and remember the importance of freedom.

Freedom. Liberty. Freedom to live our live as we choose. Freedom that we take for granted. Freedom that we cherish.
