American Made American Flag

The National Independent Flag Dealers Association (NIFDA) has been fighting for American flags to be made in America. Anytime I mention this bill to someone outside the flag industry, their response is always, “well that would make sense, wouldn’t it?” And as much as it does make sense, there is still so much confusion to consumers about what an American Made American Flag looks like, and a reliable place to purchase it.

Online Purchasing

As online purchases rise, and shopping in person declines, it is important to educate our consumers on reliable companies to buy American flags from. It is so easy to jump on Amazon, find exactly what you are looking for. Amazing, the product will be here in 2 days, and free shipping. Oh, and the price is unbeatable. Red flag! Did you know that the majority of the American flags sold on Amazon are imported? The Amazon listings are misleading and in many cases fraudulent. They say the flag is Made in the USA, but the flag is made in China. It says Veteran Owned, but nowhere on the listing does it say made in the USA. As a flag industry, we have to compete with Amazon and the lies in the listings.

The flag industry is currently fighting to protect the integrity of American-made flags. Carter Beard, the President of Annin flags sent an open letter to Jeff Bezos, calling on Amazon to stop this deception.

Building Trust

The best thing we can do is educate our customers and build trust. We rely on our strong communication, picking up a phone when people don’t think we are human, and knowing where our products are made.

We stand behind every product we sell. If it is not to your satisfaction, there is a good chance it is not to our satisfaction either.

If you care about American Made American Flags as much as we do, we encourage you to spread the word about the deception on Amazon and read about bill H.R. 4137, Make American Flags in America Act. Here is how YOU can help.

1. Share the open letter on your social media.

We are passionate about making American flags in America, and you should be too. If you are unsure what an imported flag might look like, or who may be selling them, here is an article to differentiate the imported American flags vs the domestic made American flags.
