As mentioned in a previous blog, we do not actually manufacture flags here in Westminster, Colorado. We are a flag dealer that markets and sells flags to end users. We work with several FMAA Certified flag manufacturers who rely on us to work with the end user and make sales so they don’t have to.

Meet our manufacturer, Valley Forge Flag. The second of four manufacturers.

Valley Forge Flag manufactures American flags, state flags, international flags, and military flags. Since the beginning we have relied on them for a variety of products. American flags, state flags, custom flags, attention flags. However, since 2020 they have reduced their product line to focus on manufacturing their most popular products. In 2022 we had the honor of visiting two of their facilities in South Carolina as part of our industry flag convention. It was amazing to see the mass production of American flags.

Meet Our Manufacturer: Valley Forge Flag

Valley Forge Flag History

Valley Forge Flag was founded in 1882 and started as a family-owned burlap bag business. In the 1910’s they were also selling World World I surplus, including US Flags. Due to the large success of selling flags, they began producing their own high-quality American flags in the 1920’s. During the depression the company opened its first factory in Spring City, Pennsylvania as Valley Forge Flag brand. During World World II Valley Forge Flag was able to meet the unprecedented demand for flags for our patriotic nation during a war. During the 1960’s Valley Forge Flag became the largest supplier to the Department of Veterans Affairs of interment (casket) flags. The flag for President Kennedy’s funeral procession was provided by Valley Forge Flag.

In 1998, the company began operations in South Carolina to fully integrate fabric dryers and finishers.

Flag Divisions

Valley Forge Flag has three divisions. Commercial Division, Mass Market Retail Division, and Southern Impressions. The commercial division is the division where VFF works with flag dealers. The mass market retail division is the division that works with large retailers like Costco. Southern Impressions is where flag printing takes place.

Valley Forge Flag specializes in high volume to keep pricing competitive, so they only make American flags up to 8’x12’ size.
